Capturing the once-in-a-lifetime newborn stage is not only important just for baby, it's important for the whole family. Seeing how they fit into dad's hands just perfectly. Or how small they are next to big sister (was big sis really this small before, too?!). Looking at these photos in a few years or even just a few months from now will really show how time passes (way too fast, right?). That sweet babe probably won't fit in dad's hands anymore.
Connecting with baby's siblings is one of my specialties. We'll get some great photos of them together regardless of what we have to bribe them with (totally kidding... maybe). Siblings can come in for the entirety of the session or they can be brought in later. My studio is a pretty small space, so sometimes bringing them in later, if you have the ability to do so, can really help so they are happy and ready to snuggle baby brother or sister when it's their time to shine.
More than just the photos, it's so important to have family included for the experience. Snuggling that precious little love can bring on the emotions. It can create a strong feeling of love (how can you possibly even feel more love for this tiny human?!) and connection. Every time you look at these photos it will bring those emotions back as you remember just how they felt in your hands, just how they clenched your finger so gently.
Baby's immediate family is included in my Luxury Newborn Sessions at no additional cost. My client closet is available for use for mama and baby's siblings and I would love to make suggestions for dad's clothing if you request it. The family portion is usually done at the end of the session, so you have plenty of time in the studio to prepare if you run behind on getting yourself ready at home before you arrive. I have a curling iron, hairspray and bobby pins available if needed.
We'll get photos of the whole family, baby with mom and dad, baby with just mom and just dad and baby with just siblings.
Please take advantage of getting family photos during your Luxury Newborn Session! I have had clients regret not getting family photos done. It's ultimately such a necessary part of the session to show and feel that love.
